Fat America

Well, this picture is quite amusing, when to be honest it captivates our America today. The image of a very thin man, seems to be the one that catches one's eye first. This is because the image to the right, we see everyday. America has turned her people into an attention craving, idealistic society that reams those who break norms and revolves itself around please and pain at the same time.

These two men are both considered "true Americans" because this is what we have come to be known by. This is not how America should be. This is not how any country should be. Our dependency on laziness and acceptance has become detrimental to our nation and will be the downfall of her as well.

I feel as though too many people can relate to one of these pictures and that is something we need to address here. If we don't, we might sink ourselves.

  1. Maintaining a normal weight and eating a healthy diet does seem to be one of the main controversies and concerns in American society. Obviously, weight is a concern because many Americans, including children are becoming overweight at an alarming rate. I agree with the government and health officials taking initiative to inform the public of this unhealthy change and downturn in the citizens. However, I believe that too much emphasis should not be put on weight if the person is not obese and if they are not at risk of obtaining any diseases due to their weight gain. Yes, I believe that is okay to eat a hamburger and french fries from a fast food restaurant, but I do not believe that this should be done habitually. Everything in life should be done in moderation. However, I believe that if we as a society focus a large proportion of attention on the weight of a person, that we will lose sight on the character of that same person. Which is more important to you, a person's weight or their character? One can lose weight, but how long will it take to build a positive character and a positive attitude?
