Glued to the TV

This a picture of a little child around the age of 6-8 who is watching television, all late at night and so close to the screen, as if their eyes were glued onto that little monitor. This picture doesn’t have much color but you can see the brightness of the screen jumping out. This child is either not supposed to be watching TV or maybe hiding from his or her parents because it is very dark inside the room.

I think this picture is implying that kids are watching too much TV when they should be reading a book or playing outside. The TV is hypnotizing kids to the point where they cannot go with out and if they don’t have a TV, they will find access to one.

Children are growing up and becoming very dependent on TV. Children watch TV more than anyone in this world and I feel as though it causes them to have emotional and educational problems when they get older.

Many people will look at this picture and feel shocked, familiar because that is how they were as a child , or even mad. This child is hooked on the TV and viewers can see that without having to look deep inside of the picture. Parents can really look at this picture and see their child in this little kid. With the help of parents, schools, and even friends children can take their eyes off the TV and have some real fun.

  1. I totally agree-in nowadays children are becoming more and more addicted to watching television. I remember when I was a kid and TV wasn't such popular entertainment medium. Back then I had the freedom to go out and play with my friends outside, read books, and so on. Life was easy and fun. Now, things are different. I feel like that children today are exposed to too much information on TV (the type of programming that they are exposed to can be very disturbing sometimes), which might lead to psychological disorders, affect their behavior, and demonstrate poor performance in school. I believe that watching a lot of television at early age doesn’t increase children’s attention or endorse their social skills at all. It is important for them to play outside, communicate with their peers and parents, so that they can grow as healthy and intelligent adults, instead of sitting in front of the TV and being soaked into 3 dimensional made up world.
