Who Needs Books?

This picture may seem like something we see daily so it may seem very ordinary. The picture shows a library with computers and books. Everybody in the library are doing their work or looking up sources via the computer instead of the books like in the past. Nowadays, the technology advanced so much that there is no need for a book because all the books have an electrical version on the internet on a website. Also, everything is now printed, such as research papers, instead of handwritten.

Students nowadays will go straight to their computer for sources when there are many helpful books and encyclopedias in the libraries. Due to the technological advancements, there no longer is a need for students to look for books and flip many pages to find the right support. Instead of looking for books, you can just go on Google and search what you need to search for. The advancement of technology is changing our daily routine. We rely on technology too much because it is useful and convenient.

By looking at this picture, the parents will be amazed at how the students are doing their assignments. When they were students, they had to look through several books before finding the right support when students now just search online.

  1. This is definitely a very important issue in today's society. I believe that the value of books is being undermined for the convenience that computers bring. A student who reads is able to concentrate on the book and story itself, instead of the many distractions that come with a computer. Books stimulate the mind and intellect in a way that computers cannot. It is necessary to spend some time outside of this high technology world and read a book. Also, it's important to note that spending time on the computer excessively is not good for vision. That is why research shouldn't be done soley on computers, and they cannot replace books.
The picture affects the viewer because everyone is on the computer, even though there are shelves full of books that are waiting to assist someone.
